Safety Standards

GeoDe is a location-based deals app. Most deals are loaded by our team from publicly available sources, but users can also submit deals they've spotted. Because users can post content other users see, we operate under the safety standards documented below.

1. Minimum age

GeoDe is intended for users 13 and older. Users under 13 are not permitted to use the app or submit content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, email info@geodesave.com and we will delete it.

2. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM)

GeoDe has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material. We comply with 18 U.S.C. § 2258A and report any suspected CSAM directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through the CyberTipline. Any account associated with CSAM is permanently banned and reported to law enforcement.

3. What's prohibited

Users may not submit content that:

  • Sexually exploits or endangers a minor.
  • Promotes terrorism, violent extremism, or hate against any protected group.
  • Harasses, threatens, or doxxes another person.
  • Promotes scams, fraud, or illegal activity.
  • Impersonates another person or business.
  • Contains nudity, sexual content, or graphic violence.
  • Is spam, low-effort, or not actually a real deal at a real merchant.
  • Misrepresents a deal in a way that would harm the merchant or other users.
  • Violates any applicable local, state, or federal law.

4. How we keep GeoDe safe

Automated moderation

Every user-submitted deal is reviewed by an automated moderator powered by Anthropic Claude before it is published. The moderator rejects submissions that appear to violate the standards above — prohibited content, spam, self-promotion disguised as a deal, or anything that does not look like a real merchant offer.

Manual review

Submissions can also be reviewed by our team. We may approve, reject, or edit a submission at any time. Reviewers have the final say on whether content is published.

In-app reporting

Every deal in GeoDe can be reported. Reports route to our team and are reviewed. Reports of CSAM, threats of violence, or other urgent safety issues are prioritized over other reports.

Account-level enforcement

Users who repeatedly submit prohibited content are warned, suspended, and ultimately permanently banned from the platform.

5. What we ask of users

  • Only submit deals you have personally seen.
  • Don't promote a business you own or work for unless the deal is a real public offer that anyone can claim.
  • Use real names or believable display names. Don't impersonate.
  • Report content you think violates these standards.
  • Treat other users and merchants with respect.

For urgent reports (CSAM, threats, imminent harm) include URGENT in the subject and we will respond as quickly as possible.

7. Compliance

GeoDe is built to comply with:

  • Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA, 15 U.S.C. § 6501)
  • California Age-Appropriate Design Code Act (AADC)
  • Google Play User-Generated Content policy
  • Google Play Online Child Safety policy
  • Apple App Store Review Guidelines §1.2 (User-Generated Content)
